Fashion designer Marc Jacobs debuted his Spring 2010 collection during the Mercedes-Benz fashion Week in September 2009. He complimented each whimsical creation with a nude colored OPI Nail Lacquer on every runway model. Jacobs then hand selected each OPI shade to include Barefoot in Barcelona, Samoan Sand, Malaysian Mist and Dulce de Leche. With a touch of femininity, he finalized his selection with OPI's Matte Nail Envy.
The 2010 Fashion show was influenced by a mix of 'harlequin, geisha, and cabaret cutie, ultimately, the theatric collection manifested like a melange of stern-faced dolls in high-fashion fixings. An abundance of ruffles, sometimes completely covering a frock, is over-the-top femme. Beading, layering, florals and plaids, and inside-out corsetry gave way to a complex collection. The one steady, and no doubt sell-worthy, aspect: outerwear. Marc has a sharp scissor when it comes to military coats and crisp jackets; these brought the fantasy back to reality. In addition, navy pinstripe got the ruffle treatment, giving way to nuanced tailoring. The drippy gowns aren't the most dreamy, but everything else is imagination gone gaga. Lady Gaga and Madonna were famous front rowers, and Perez Hilton was present too!' Minimal make up is hot for 2010. Each hand selected OPI nude shade compliments the natural couture of a women and the delicate features of her hands.

According to Instyle,"The slicked-backed buns say ballerina. The graphic eyes scream carnival. And the powdered and lined brows conjour up geisha. As per usual, it's impossible to guess exactly what's going on in Marc Jacob's brilliant head, but, since he tapped makeup artist Francois Nars last season to create the amazing 80s looks for his Fall 2009 show, we do know that the beauty envelope will be pushed. No "normal" looks here, thank you very much! Our fashion editors tell us that Jacobs riffed off of deconstructed ballerinas from Russia with a tinge of Martha Graham thrown in for good measure. And according to Nars, the look portrayed a "just came off-stage" effect: "Dancers in theater and opera always have white faces, pointed lips and an eye that is drawn outward, not upward - it's very theatrical, very ballet.
Makeup: Nars paled-out the skin with Sheer Matte Foundation in Siberia, and gave the lips a wine stain with Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Pop Life. Eyes were done up with Eye Shadow Duo in Pandora, Eyeliner in Black Moon, and Stylo in Nuits Blanches, plus two pairs on faux lashes per model.
Hair: Palau pulled hair up into a tight ponytail at the back of the head. He then twisted it tightly and looped it down, pinning it into a tight bun ballerina bun. He used Redken's Glass 01 Smoothing Serum to slick back flyaways and to keep the hair shiny and in place.
Nails: Nude-colored OPI Nail Lacquers was on all the models fingers. Barefoot in Barcelona, Samoan Sand, Malaysian Mist and Dulce de Leche were topped with OPI Matte Nail Envy for a matte finish."
