Hermès to Launch 2010 Perfume; Spring 2010 Fashion Preview

Designer fashion label, Hermès, has mentioned an upcoming perfume launch that will take in effect early 2010. President of Hermès Parfums Catherine Fulconis gave no specific details about the new fragrance during an interview by French magazine Cosmétique Mag of Dec 2009/January 2010. However, it has been reported the new perfume will be widely distributed throughout the full Hermès distribution network as they wish to see "one of the founding thematics of Hermès."

"It is too soon to unveil its details [the launch's] but we hope to surprise people and most of all to create emotion by going further still in the direction of an affirmation of our values of creation," says Fulconis. She also announced a new edition of Eau des Merveilles will be released alongside a new advertising campaign to launch mid 2010. We can't wait to see who the new advertising face will be!

Jimmy Choo to Launch 2010 Debut Fragrance Line for Women

Recently announced, Jimmy Choo and Inter Parfums SA have collaborated on a 12 year licensing agreement developing a new fragrance line for women. The new contract takes in effect January 1, 2010. 'The brand is making some major strides in expansion, designing a line for H&M that features not only shoes and bags, but full apparel collections for women and men.' Jimmy Choo has previous arrangements with Selective Beauty, early 2009, but the project was postponed, and eventually ended.

"It has always been my vision to fully accessorize the woman, and fragrance is an integral part of the modern wardrobe," said Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo's founder and president said in a press release. "Through the association with Inter Parfums, I look forward to bringing this important aspect of my vision to life."

"We love the idea of wearing Jimmy Choo from our heads down to our feet. Which brings us to a grand idea for the company's next venture: Pedicures to match you stilettos."

No details have been released about the new elixir...

Amy Winehouse May Launch Her Signature Perfume Scent for Women

"Amy Winehouse is reportedly eyeing a deal with a perfume house to launch a range under her name. The singer was said to looking to bag a deal worth more than 750,000 dollars under the guidance of her father, Mitch" according to the Indian Express. “They want it to reflect her style with a classic smoky 1950s look and smell. Amy is keen to expand her brand and wants to latch on to the celeb perfumes bandwagon while she can". The news is also broadcasted on Starpulse Entertainment news. The initial reportage is owed to The Daily Star, but in a world when porn stars have issued their own celebrity scents, a (talented, if troubled) singer's juice doesn't seem as far fetched.

Will it be "Eau de Funk" like reported on Ear Sucker? "A namless {sic} industry insider seems to agree with me saying: “Frankly, she doesn’t look like she smells that nice, so doing some positive publicity to prove it doesn’t just smell of stale booze and fags would be vital.” according to Fashionindie.com

We will have to wait for this eye catching fragrance from Amy. Let's hope she can make it through the selection process.

Faith Hill to be Announced as New Celebrity Perfumer- New Scent Launch this October 2009

Faith Hill is the newest perfumer on the block! Hoping to follow the success of her husband Tim McGraw's fragrance, Hill and Coty, Inc. announced the debut of Faith Hill Parfums at an intimate event in a chic NYC townhouse.

Hill -- looking fresh as a flower in head-to-toe pink and rosy lipstick -- excitedly explained how she was involved in the creation of the fragrance from start to finish, adding that she hopes women will feel beautiful when they wear it.

"To me a beautiful woman is confident, smart, and has a sense of humor. Beauty comes from the inside but what you wear on the outside can help you feel more confident and sexy."

The fragrance (launching this October) is a feminine floral reminiscent of Hill's childhood growing up in Mississippi. She said she worked with the lead perfumer to make sure her all-time favorite flower, peony, was in the blend along with magnolias that remind her of being a kid in the south.

Just as important as the actual scent was the bottle -- Hill explained that she wanted a timeless design that women would want to leave out on their vanities.

"It was a long process but the best part was seeing it all come together at the end," she said. "It was such a great experience -- and I hope women feel great when they wear it!"

Because smelling good is just so tough. Grammy-nominated R&B singer and songwriter Akon is breaking into the beauty world. The pop star, who put himself on the musical map with his 2004 release “Locked Up” and has collaborated on hit singles with everyone from Gwen Stefani to rapper Young Jeezy, has revealed plans to introduce two fragrances, Konvict and Aliaune, in the fall. Named after his top-selling album, “Konvict,” and his given name Aliuane “Akon” Thiam, the two scents will be produced in partnership with the singer’s newly formed company, Konvict Cosmetics Intl. Beginning in August. Industry sources expect the two scents to generate about $25 million in first-year retail sales. Aliaune, which is meant to target an older, more sophisticated customer, 3.4 oz. Konvict, meant to speak to a younger consumer, will be available in a 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette.
