How To Boost Self Confidence With Perfume for Women and Men

How To Boost Self Confidence With Perfume for Women and Men

There are three broad theories of perfume use. One is that people use it to mask body odours that they think are bad. The second is that some perfumes contain chemicals that mimic human pheromones. Some believe this plays a role in physical attraction. The third is that people use it to heighten their natural scent.

All three theories could be true. Bad smells are not just a matter of poor hygiene. Illness and old age both bring characteristic odors of their own, and neither state makes people more attractive. Perfumes may spoof these messages.

A pheromone is a chemical that elicits a specific behavioural response at a distance. Some insects, for example, can release sex pheromones that will attract a mate from many kilometres away. The most likely human candidate is a substance called androstadienone. This is a derivative of testosterone that is found in men’s sweat and is known, from brain-scanning studies, to promote activity in parts of women’s brains. The results in changes in behaviour has not, however, been clearly demonstrated.

A lot has been made of the link between our sense of smell and the way we feel and it's now a well established fact that certain smells can evoke different feelings of calm, excitement or well being. But how does this relate to sex appeal? Putting aside for a minute the whole pheromone/body chemistry side of things, sex appeal has a lot to do with body language and how we behave. After all, a confident person (not arrogant) has a certain appeal to the opposite sex.

The female pheromone is known as androstenol. Humans produce it via their sweat glands and yes, it is known as a sex pheromone. The thought of something produced from the sweat glands being used to attract interest from the opposite sex is probably not very appealing to most people.

Androstenol is similar to the male pheromone known as androstenone. In the final analysis, it's basically the same thing however, women also produce copulins and in effect, have the advantage of a double-barreled attractant to catch the attention of unsuspecting men.

Can You Smell Pheromones? If you're thinking about saving money and producing your own pheromones by not bathing for a week then you'd better think again! Pheromones don't attract by scent. They are basically odorless. The attraction is picked up via an organ known as the VNO(Vomeronasal Organ) and has been described as a type of sixth scent.

The various selection of world perfumes and colognes smell different on every skin type and this makes the aroma that emanates from you truly unique to you. Some perfumes can transport you back to those confident days and intimate moments you shared with your beloved. Most men are fond of using cologne as women are of wearing perfume. The perfect cologne, ranging from musk to sandalwood to oak and amber can infuse masculinity and confidence in all men. Whether you are a voluptuous woman or a macho man, perfume or cologne can provide you the freedom to feel good in your own skin. Choosing an apt perfume for the day based on aromatherapy principles will boost your spirits for the day. Isn't high spirits and a good mood what all of us want throughout our day? Since your moods and energy levels keep constantly changing, you should use different fragrances at different times during the day to keep that peak confidence factor high.

Jasmine, patchouli, sandalwood, rose, ylang ylang and a number of other aromatherapy oils used in perfumery are known for their aphrodisiac properties. Perfumes are often used like pheromones, for that aphrodisiac effect. Take a look at all the perfume ads. They usually center around romance, or seduction.

Patchouli has a sweet, very strong, musky scent that is considered very sexy. On its own, it is the kind of scent you either love or hate, as it can be overpowering, but when blended into a perfume with other notes, it gives the perfume a sexier feel.

Ylang ylang has a strong, womanly scent. Ylang ylang can be overpowering but when used lightly or in blends, it is said to put one in a romantic mood. Ylang ylang perfumes are ideal for that romantic night out.

Jasmine perfume has a very sensual fragrance. Jasmine essential oil itself exerts an effect on a female hormones. It is used in aromatherapy to balance hormones and to boost confidence. Jasmine is popular in perfumes as it has a strong erogenous effect on people.

Then there is musk which on its own, is a potent masculine scent. With other scents, it might be barely detectable yet it gives the perfume bouquet an air of mystery. Even the lightest, most flowery perfumes contain a trace of musk.

You will want to attend to your personal hygiene in the mornings, using an invigorating soap that will make you alert and vibrant for the rest of the day. After that, think of applying some anit-perspirant and some deodorant to keep fresh throughout the day. Deodorants are substances applied to the body, most regularly the armpits, to condense the body odor caused by the bacterial breakdown of perspiration. We all know where our armpits are I hope. If not, its under your shoulder.

Certain qualities are associated with certain aromas. Citrus, Spice, and Mint are uplifting, and calm the nerves. They are said to help mental clarity, improve thinking, and a readiness to accept challenges. If you are looking at a vigorous day's work, these perfumes will kick-start the day for you.
