Nina Ricci has announced an introduction to a new feminine fragrance called Ricci Ricci on August the 24th 2009 in France. The launch will be followed by an international roll-out. It features a central accord resting on the night bloom Belle-de-Nuit which diffuses its scent lightly.

A perfume perfected in two years, Ricci Ricci was created by perfumers Aurélien Guichard and Jacques Huclier of Givaudan. These experts put special emphasis on the trail or sillage of the fragrance which is described as being "huge" and symbolized on the advert and the bottle by a shiny ribbon.

"Using these flowers allowed us to create a huge trail with this fragrance," noted Guichard. "We worked very hard to produce this diffusion element, for which you also need top quality ingredients, which Nina Ricci gave us the freedom to use."

With the Fashion sense of Nina Ricci, the ribbon is meant to symbolize femininity. Ricci Ricci is a major launch for the House of Nina Ricci. 

Ricci Ricci opens with notes of bergamot and zesty rhubard followed by a floral heart built around the elusive Belle de Nuit. It is accompanied by Centifolia rose and Indian tuberose before settling down to base notes of patchouli and sandalwood.

Ricci Ricci for Women will be available in 1.7 oz Eau de Parfum.

Coming March 2009, Nina Ricci will launch Love by Nina, a new limited edition flanker to 2006's blockbuster French success Nina fragrance for women. The original Nina fragrance has been reworked by perfumer Olivier Cresp, who transformed the apple notes with the additions of frangipani and almond-flavored cherry blossoms. If the first fragrance featured a caramelized red apple, the new version goes for more freshness by replacing that central note with a tart and crunchy Granny-Smith one. The scent promises to be both creamy and a bit tart. The cherries and almonds notes are fast becoming the new smell du jour in perfumes for young women. This ubiquitous accord is to be found this season in Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire but also Lolita Lempicka Amrena Whim, a limited-edition, which is much better than the Lolita Fleur Défendue of last year which also had those notes. Let us not forget Britney Spears Hidden Fantasy. The red bottle turns green for the occasion making it look more like the original DKNY Be Delicious.

The new flanker by Nina Ricci smells like the green vernal dress that Nina has decided to wear for spring 09 instead of its pink-red one. It is an extremely logical composition with a rotating note in it. The summary of the olfactory idea is simply that of a milky toffee apple that has gone green and barely fresher so as to keep the original decadent sweetness intact.
