"Romantic, fresh, and daring." A new phrase that captures Cacharel's new women's fragrance, Scarlett (in reference to an archetypal feminine heroine). It's a new take on the 1970's fragrance Anaïs Anaïs, which dominated the perfume world. The perfume was composed by "triumvirate" of noses from Firmenich Honorine Blanc, Alberto Morillas, and Olivier Cresp (Angel; Light Blue; Kenzo Jungle pour Homme; Nina Ricci; Bond Girl 007...) The fragrance Scarlett by Cacharel will incorporate a juicy citrus and pear prelude to a white floral heart of jasmine, orange blossom and honeysuckle anchored with tea notes, white musk and sandalwood. Much like their first foray with Anais Anais which relied heavily on lily, and a return to less sugary compositions, a suprising aspect taking into account the fragrance is geared towards the 15-25 years of age demographic (a generation raised on very sweet perfumes). Particular attention was lavished upon the flacon which had to be as distinctive as the bottle of Anaïs Anaïs was originally. The milky white and pastel rose color palette has been preserved but the design inspired by porcelain biscuit pottery,  just like the original Anaïs Anaïs, sets it apart from the competition. The packaging is signed by Christophe Pillet.

Cacharel Scarlett will be available in sizes ranging from 35 to 80 ml Eau de Toilette and wil be launched mid July '09.

Onde Mystère: Evokes the Middle East and the beauties of the harems, with amber, benzoin, incense, Morrocan rose, spices, musk and vanilla.
Opening with a soft veil of transparent woods (the lightest of light vetiver hints bathing in gossamer sandalwood) Mystère quickly turns into a fluffy, froth as a spring cloud interpretation of turkish delight. Rosewater infused soft candy, with a sprinkling of sugar and almonds, this is the softest, most innocent interpretation of the by now quite popular theme.

Onde Vertige: Inspired by the Kama Sutra and evoking the India of palaces and temples, featuring frangipani, jasmine, pittosporum and patchouli. The opening is green and slightly resinous, with the characteristic, nectareous, slightly citrucy honeyed scent of pittosporum. Stronger than Mystère, Vertige has a delectable, sophisticated 80s vibe, smelling exquisitely italian and exuberant, reeking power and style through flowers. After a wave of bright, shining jasmine, Vertige exposes us to a glorious frangipani scent that is fruity, exotic and colorful. Vertige hides a stretch of dark velvet in its woody drydown which is rather addictive and mysterious, but also rather strange and surprising, due to a sharp, masculine touch that flows in and out of consciousness and manages to catch me unaware each and every time.

Onde Extase: Inspired by the art of the geisha in Japan, with cedar, mimosa, jasmine, narcissus, bergamot and sesame absolute. Its lovely sweetness is childlike, exquisite and endearing. Even though it is not strictly linear, it changes very slightly with the passing of time, retaining its main characteristics intact. The heaviest of the trio, after the initial burst of smile-inducing, playful sweetness, Extase grows heavier, imbuing the wearer with the scent of rich florals, most prominently narcissus and mimosa.
