New Rochas Eau Sensuelle Perfume for Women

To inaugurate his new role as the in-house perfumer for Rochas, perfumer Jean-Michel Duriez decided to tackle the classic eau fraîche created in 1970 by perfumer Nicolas Mamounas, Eau de Rochas, a limpid-smelling, distinctive composition. Flankers of Eau de Rochas have appeared over the years but this time, its 2009 incarnation appears to play on main textures other than watery and crystalline.The new creation, reportedly freely inspired by its forerunner, is called Eau Sensuelle (Sensual Water) and will be released on April 2009.

Eau Sensuelle, while being housed in the same bottle as Eau de Rochas, offers a sultrier and more exotic twist, with fruity accords featuring notes of blood orange, bergamot, mango and hints of dried fruits in the base. Other notes include pink pepper, Indian jasmine Sambac, orris, and white musk. .

Rochas Eau Sensuelle will be available in a 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Can you believe the Ralph Lauren Polo fragrance is 30 years old this year! Polo Modern Reserve, a new, ‘updated’ edition of the 1978 Polo fragrance is intended to celebrate Polo’s birthday. Polo is still one of the top 15 men’s fragrances in the U.S. Polo Modern Reserve takes Polo's formula and reinvents it's notes with artemisia, basil, bergamot, chamomile, cumin, juniper berry, geranium, carnation, jasmine, ‘pine needle,’ rose, thyme, tobacco, amber, cedar, leather, musk, moss, patchouli and frankincense. Polo Modern Reserve erases green notes, replaces chamomile with cardamom, tobacco with vetiver-leather, juniper berries with pimento berries, and frankincense with myrrh incense. (Other listed notes for Polo Modern Reserve are basil, liquid jasmine, humidor wood, patchouli and ‘sueded’ leather.) Like Polo, Polo Modern Reserve was developed by perfumer Carlos Benaïm.

Leslie Marino, general manager of L’Oréal Designer Fragrance Division, said Polo Modern Reserve is “…a little stronger and more masculine” and uses “purer raw materials” than Polo.

Polo Modern Reserve Eau de Toilette is available in two sizes: 120 ml and a limited edition 240 ml Eau de Toilette in a numbered leather box with 24-karat-gold details on the box and bottle.
