White Suede explores the masculine-feminine tension of musk combined with soft leather. Notes of Bulgarian rose and saffron magnify a heart of thyme, mate tea, olibanum, and lily of the valley. A base finishes with warm amber, suede and sandalwood. It's exotic, a touch of class only Tom Ford can accomplish. Jasmine Musk is a floral burst of energy! Ylang-ylang and jasmine compliment a muskey heart of patchouli, and orris. Urban Musk posseses opulent, oriental tones that include ambrette seed absolute extra (extraction from ambrette seed essential oil) and white pepper CO2. A warm heart of cumin, white honey, jasmine sambac, and black plum dramatize a base of tonkin musk headspace and benzoin Laos orpur. Urban Musk is energetically edgy and ideal for a city inspired look.

“The intention was to build on the true beauty of musk, which is not at all heavy or dirty, but has a deep, compelling softness,” Ford continued. “Inhaling pure musk is a bit like inhaling nude skin. What I discovered is that there’s such a spectrum of shades and tones within the musk family that a single fragrance couldn’t capture its character.”

Tom Ford's White Musk Collection was designed to convey the scents’ lighter, whiter spirit then it's previous versions of the Tom Ford Private Blend. The signature, dark glass “chess piece” flacon has been reworked in clear glass, is topped with an ivory cap, and bears an ivory label stamped in gold. Tom Ford's Private Blend White Musk Collection is available as a 50ml Eau de Toilette and it was launched September 2009.

Tom Ford's Private Blend collection packaging is inspired by the dark brown glass colouring of the apothecary bottles used in perfumers work rooms. The top notes include Tokajii wine, Cognac, bergamot, davana and Mediterranean broom flower. The heart of champaca unfolds a floral blend of orchids, white violet and jasmine. The base notes envelope you in vanilla, amber, marron glace and sandalwood.

Champaca Absolute is created to be a bit heavy in the hand, but has the sleek architectural look of a chess piece. Just like Tom Ford's Previous release, Italian Cyress.  The 250ml top is carved “with the highest level of craftsmanship”, according to the company. It is designed to enhance the user’s home environment. It is available in a 50ml Eau de Parfum.

Tom Ford has launched Champaca Absolute, the latest addition to the Tom Ford Private Blend collection of fragrances. This Floral Oriental composition is Tom Ford's homage to the eternal, seductive power of Champaca. The multi-layered fragrance starts with opening notes of Tokajii Wine and Cognac to reveal the sensuous heart of Champaca Absolute and the final warm notes of Vanilla Bean, Amber and Sandalwood. A sensory showstopper, it could only have come from Tom Ford.

The name is a ‘reference’ to champaca absolute, a perfumer’s term for the liquid extraction of the flower. There are a few ways to extract the fragrance from the flower: CO2; concrete and absolute. Like many florals, the extraction process can vary the scent profile of the flower. Champaca Absolute then, makes reference to this ‘pure’ form of the champaca flower essence. Additional notes for Champaca Absolute include bergamot, davana, broom flower, orchid, violet, jasmine, marron glace. Champaca is related to the star anise family and it’s smell has been compared to magnolia; it is slightly less peach-y than magnolia with a bit of spice; many compare it to a white flower such as orange blossom, but admit that it has its own unique scent profile.

Champaca Absolute begins with a soft fermented plum note, very wine-like in a hazy sort of tannic effect. Immediately the champaca notes appear and blossom on my skin. Apply lightly and give it a few minutes to settle on your skin. Then put on your sunglasses and stand tall when you walk out the front door!
