Singer Usher will release a new fragrance, a solo men's fragrance this time called VIP. Its aim is to empower and to seduce.

VIP was composed by perfumer Harry Fremont of Firmenich. The cologne opens on top notes of tangerine, bergamot, kumquat and nutmeg; its middle notes are violet leaf, lotus flower and saffron; base notes are vetiver, oakmoss and suede.

The bottle is meant to replicate the feel of a Cognac bottle and keeps the trademark Usher spinning ring.

Two sizes will be available: 1.7 oz. and 3.4 oz.

My Glow, due to be launched in October 2009, was created during J.Lo's pregnancy with her twins. This is a time when women have a sense of smell getting a little closer to that of a blood hound and they often cannot withstand strong smells; it could make for a particularly subtle perfume.

“Every baby is an angel,” said Jennifer Lopez. Which clearly transpires to the capsule of the flacon which has an angel on it. The bottle is the first out of the Glow collection that has a different shape than usual, the flacon also has a more classic look. The ad campaign was shot in September last year by legendary photographer Carter Smith, who also shot her last editorial for ELLE magazine.

The Glow collection started with Glow and was followed by Miami Glow, Love at First Glow, Glow After Dark, Glow Shimmer and Sunkissed Glow.

Punk rocker Avril Lavigne unveiled her newest fragrance May 2009 called Black Star perfume for women. The launch party was held at PUNK in Oxford Circus, London, where Avril gave a group of international journalists a preview of her latest project. Last year, Avril Lavigne signed a major deal with Procter and Gamble to produce the new product line that includes perfume, aftershave, bath oil, bath soap, shower gel, body shampoo, and body lotion. The new scent “was inspired by Avril’s individuality and style” and is described as “young and fresh and edgy”. These hip fragrance notes feature pink hibiscus, black plum and dark chocolate. The flirtatious bottle features a detachable studded ring around the neck.

“I’m traveling to London next week where I’m about to announce my latest project ………. my very first fragrance! I’m really excited and can’t wait to share it with you. It will be available across Europe this summer, and soon in the US and Canada." Says Avril in a recent blog. “It has been a pretty cool experience. It’s so me in a bottle….hahaha! I love the packaging. I wanted to let you guys know the name first … so…..(drum roll please)…….hahah….. The name is Black Star!”
