It reflects Pamela's edgy lifestyle in Malibu, Ca. A spokesperson for PCA stated, “It will be everything that Pam Anderson is known for. The lips, skin, hair-all that will fall under the Malibu brand.”

Parlux Fragrances has signed an agreement with Iconic Fragrances, a licensing company in which Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter is a principal. The agreement includes individual worldwide fragrance licenses for multiple Grammy award winning and multi-platinum selling international entertainers Rihanna and Kanye West. Iconic also is in the final stage of negotiations for a worldwide fragrance license with Carter, and in discussions with a well-established female artist.

Neil Katz, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Parlux said, “We have been negotiating this agreement for over nine months. We believe that its implementation, combined with the success of our core brands, will allow us to significantly increase revenues and improve our bottom line. This 2009 year will release a number of celebrity debut fragrances and signature scents for Men and Women. Among entertainers such as Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani and Britney Spears, Canadian Pop Singer Avril Lavigne is preparing to launch her own line of perfume and toiletries. It has been reported that Lavigne has struck a licensing deal with Procter & Gamble Prestige Products.

“Young teenage girls really aspire to Avril and love everything about her,” said Heike Hindenlang, global marketing director for Procter & Gamble Prestige Products. “We think we can reach out to new consumers with her scents. It’s about finding which brands appeal to young consumers and [which] fashion and celebrities are resonant with them.”Avril said she was very pleased “to be working with Procter & Gamble on releasing my first fragrance. Creating this fragrance is a fun process and I am looking forward to sharing it with everyone.”

Lavigne, who evokes for us the scent of bubblegum and vinegar plans to include perfume, after shave, bath oil, bath soap, shower gel, body shampoo, and body lotion will be in production to the new line. While there’s no official launch date yet, the fragrance is expected to launch sometime during the second half of 2009. Possibly late summer, early fall.

In 2006, celebrity fragrances were the fastest growing segment of the $2.9 billion US perfume market. Sales of Lopez's fragrances Glow and Live Luxe made her $77 million in 2006, while Victoria and David Beckham's his and hers Intimately Beckham scents were among the most popular Christmas gifts last year.

Parents will be happy to learn that the line of fragrances will be targeted at the early-teens market. Soon, every little girl will be able to spritz some punk-pop perfume and go scampering into the arms of a Sum 41 member.
